Jonny Quest/The Weather

Me and my dad, in our quest to watch a shitload of anime/cartoons, have started up the old Jonny Quest episodes, as we're waiting for me to go to the anime store to get more Lupin/other kickass anime (not to mention that I still got War in the Pocket, Phoenix, Samurai 7, Sailor Moon, Princess Mononoke, and I think some more to get).

Lots of good memories of when I was small, and how we had a few Jonny Quest episodes on a VHS, along with an episode of Space Ghost (this was seriously old), and me and my brothers, probably when I was 7 or so, would watch the same episodes again and again, rewinding at certain parts to kill ourselves laughing over. And just how it was something we'd do with our dad--watch cartoons, watch prime-time tv (we honestly watched Murphy Brown before we were 7), watch violent movies, and watch him play games like Doom and Wolfenstein. Very good memories.

Anyways, snow's arrived here, and it's so fucking cold that I can't keep warm. We have NO heating at work, so I've been told by my friend to bundle up as much as I can, because the doors get opened, and whatever heat we accumulate through having people in the shop escapes, and we're left basically trying to keep warm. My boss keeps saying he'll bring in a space heater or something, but he keeps forgetting. riugheilguhwelf

Wish me luck that I don't turn into a popsicle when I'm at work.

Lupin the 3rd is the greatest anime ever made, I remember back when I was 9 watching it with my dad on Adult Swim. Too bad it was taken off though. My childhood mostly consisted of watching creepy cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy, watching rated R movies, and watching my dad play Duke Nukem, Heratic, and Wolfenstein 3D. It was fun until my mom would get very pissed at my dad for exposing me to that stuff. Most of this happened between ages of 3-10. Good memories indeed.

Got to love those memories of your childhood, I know I do. I remember when I was about 3 or 4, my brother and his friends were playing Zelda: OoT on the Ol' 64 and we were having the greatest time. Makes me sad that he lives in California now. :(

As for your heating problem, might I suggest a small electric heater; they're cheap, safe and keep you toasted as hell.

P.S. Watch Samurai 7 first, it's a masterpiece.

I often have to supply my own equipment at my job.

If you can afford it, bring your own space heater. Otherwise, your boss is likely to "forget."

I don't own a space heater, and I'm not looking to bring one in just for work because my boss isn't in when it's fucking freezing in the morning. And he can up and leave when he wants.

I'll just layer and/or get sick.

and btw--no heater still, and customers are starting to wonder about the staff's wellbeing. Boss was notably absent during my shift, so if we're getting a heater today or not is something to wonder, especially if windchill gets any lower, and I'm needing to resort to more than 3 layers of shirts/jeans and leggings/2 pairs of socks/coat/hat.

It's really that bad. And it's so slow, so we're not getting people coming in and staying to give off heat, and I got a lot of energy that's not being used.

Where do you live? Here in Helsinki there's no snow at all. But damn it's cold.

On the west coast of Canada--where it's almost uncalled for for it to be this cold.

We usually don't get snow till January.

J. Quest is the best!!! I'd kill to see that show again. It's been like, over a decade.
